Field Trips

A Field Trip for Your Group
Chinese PistacheAt High-Fence Farm we love homeschool group field trips. We would be happy to tailor a field trip to suit your small group’s particular needs. Whether it’s botany, language, or creative writing there is no better place than at High-Fence Farm.
The southeast quarter if our property is solely dedicated to an arboretum. The entire property boasts more than sixty different species of trees and shrubs. A multitude of flowering annuals, perennials, and bulbs are scattered around the grounds. Our vegetable gardens can provide a wealth of study materials.

Where there are plants there are insects. We would love for you to come and collect some of ours. Where there are plants and insects there is scientific classification, which ties perfectly into Latin usage and vocabulary.

Are you looking for scenery to inspire creative writing or drawing? You might just want a quiet place where your group can come for a sack lunch under the trees. That’s okay too.

How it Works
Having a field trip at High-Fence Farm is really quite easy. Give us a call or email with what you would like to do and when you would like to come, and we will see what we can do. We reserve the right to say no to your proposal, for any or no reason at all.

We do not charge anything to host your group…at least not at this time. However, we will not turn down your generous donations.

What We Will Not Do
The list is simple and firm, so don’t even ask:

  • No paintball parties.
  • No receptions or reunions.
  • No birthday parties.
  • We don’t have facilities for softball, football, or soccer.
  • We don’t do any similar fun things, simply because we are not set up to safely do them.
