Sweet Corn 2018: Just a Teaser

Sweet Corn, 2018Put the brakes on. Our sweet corn isn’t ready yet, but we wanted to help you get your mouth set for some roastin’ ears. We should be ready to harvest some of the finest sweet corn in Oklahoma by the 4th of July, maybe as early as next week (June 24-30). Mark it down and keep an eye peeled for the big announcement. We made several succession plantings, so sweet corn should be available the entire month of July. Get ready!

We have to bend way over to pick it, but we are getting some okra on a daily basis, and boy howdy is it good. We are waiting to hear from you. Call to set a time to come and get yours.

Summer Squash and Zucchini is Ready, 2018

The cucumbers are beginning to put on in earnest, so if you have a hankering for cucumbers now is the time to call to set up a time to come out and get yours today. We have both slicing salad cucumbers and pickling cucumbers. Don’t wait.

Who would be against preventing blindness in undernourished (3rd world) children? GOLDEN rice, which has been genetically modified to prevent blindness in undernourished children, was judged safe to eat last week by the US Food and Drug Administration.

We received much needed rain today; about ⅝”. Just realized the tube on our new gauge is not marked off in tenths but eights, like a tape measure. Still thankful for the rain. Perfect timing, as nitrogen was applied to the last of the corn just yesterday.
